This CE webinar explores the diagnosis and minimally invasive management of smooth surface enamel defects, integrating both contemporary diagnostic tools and conservative therapeutic strategies. It addresses the different types of enamel lesions based on their topography and etiology—ranging from initial carious demineralizations to developmental defects such as hypoplasia, fluorosis, and hypomineralization—highlighting how these variations influence clinical decision-making. A key concept discussed is the optical nature of white spot lesions. Early enamel demineralization creates subsurface porosities without surface cavitation, leading to light scattering and the characteristic opaque appearance. These lesions are not due to pigmentation but rather to changes in light diffraction within the enamel structure. The webinar also covers advanced diagnostic approaches, including the benefits of transillumination to better assess lesion depth and extension, improving accuracy in treatment indication. Pre-treatment considerations such as bleaching are presented as a way to harmonize the overall tooth shade and enhance the final esthetic outcome. Central to the discussion is the principle of erosion-infiltration, initially developed for early proximal carious lesions but now widely extended to smooth surface defects. The technique relies on modifying the enamel’s optical properties by infiltrating its porosities with a low-viscosity resin whose refractive index closely matches that of healthy enamel, allowing light to pass through more uniformly and restoring translucency.

Extracted teeth represent a biologically compatible grafting material that is often overlooked in clinical practice. This CE webinar explores the use of autologous dentin as a bone graft, highlighting its biologic properties, including inherent growth factors and structural similarity to bone. The webinar will review clinical applications, with particular attention to compromised patients where enhanced healing and integration are critical. Attendees will also be introduced to practical workflows that allow chair side processing of extracted teeth into graft material, supporting efficient and predictable regenerative outcomes.

Bacterial contamination of dental unit water lines is a growing liability concern for all dental offices. Bacteria that may be present include Legionella, Pseudomonas and Non-tuberculosis Mycobacteria. Without proper protocols, it is possible for dental unit water bacteria levels to be as much as 1000 times what is deemed acceptable by the CDC. This CE webinar, presented by Compliance Training Partners, highlights Centers for Disease control guidelines for dental unit water and provides solutions for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both patients and staff. The webinar also reviews proper testing protocol and describes how to correct a dental unit water system that contains unacceptable levels of bacteria.

After veneer preparation, success depends on creating aesthetic, functional temporaries and executing a predictable cementation workflow. This CE webinar provides a streamlined, step-by-step approach to both phases. Participants will learn how to fabricate provisional veneers that support tissue healing, function, and aesthetics, while serving as a guide for final restorations. The webinar also outlines an efficient, evidence-based cementation process, including material selection, surface treatment, isolation, try-in, and adhesive bonding techniques. Key materials, clinical techniques, and common pitfalls will be discussed to help improve efficiency, consistency, and long-term outcomes.

This CE webinar is designed to provide clinicians with practical, experience-based guidance for achieving predictable and esthetic posterior composite restorations. Drawing from over 25 years of clinical practice, the lecture will highlight best practices that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and long-term success. Participants will gain insight into the essential tools and materials required for optimal outcomes, as well as how to avoid common and preventable diagnostic errors that can compromise treatment. The webinar will also focus on decision-making strategies for selecting the appropriate composite materials based on tooth location and functional demands. Attendees will learn proper tooth preparation techniques for esthetic restorations and will be introduced to streamlined methods and instrumentation that allow for faster, easier procedures while maintaining a natural appearance. Clinical video demonstrations of Class II and Class V composite restorations will further reinforce these concepts and provide real-world application.

As Computer Aided Design/Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CAD/CAM)is in its 6th decade of existence, users have continued to seek out the Holy Grail of milling materials. Lithium Disilicate block’s introduction has proven to be just that. Now in its third year of utilization in the US, we have solid track record that shows we have attained that goal. Lithium Disilicate blocks provide a perfect balance of speed, strength and beauty to create the absolute best esthetic and durable restoration in the least amount of time imaginable. This CE webinar will outline the whys and hows of this incredible material of how it can elevate your restorative dentistry to the absolute next level.
Direct resin posterior restorations can be challenging to blend with the surrounding tooth structure for several reasons ranging from discoloration of underlying tooth structure that can result when replacing an old amalgam that stained the dentin, teeth discolored due to tetracycline or other things related to when the tooth developed, tooth shades that do not fit standard Vita shades, to enamel and dentin that varies in shade on the tooth. Luckily, advances in restorative composite materials have allowed development of single shade resin materials for direct restorations, offering a simpler process using fewer materials to achieve excellent aesthetics that blends with the surrounding tooth. In this CE webinar, the benefits of using a universal shade composite to simplify direct resin restorations for use for Class I and II restorations, Class V restorations and core buildups will be discussed.
This CE webinar explores the importance of integrating mental health considerations into dental care strategies, focusing on patient-centered approaches to improve outcomes. Key aspects covered include understanding the oral health implications of psychiatric medications, the role of oral health professionals in recognizing signs of mental illness, and the need for tailored dental care plans to accommodate the specific needs of this population. Additionally, preventive strategies, such as establishing oral health routines, regular dental visits, and collaboration between mental health providers and dental professionals, are discussed to enhance care and reduce the long-term risks of dental diseases for those living with mental illness. By fostering a holistic approach to care that addresses both mental and oral health, dental professionals can play a pivotal role in improving the overall well-being of individuals suffering from mental illness. The webinar concludes with recommendations for further research and education to bridge gaps in dental care for this vulnerable population.

Today, we’re tackling a question every restorative dentist has asked at some point: can one composite really do it all? For decades, we’ve accepted tradeoffs—great polish but limited strength, strong posterior composites with compromised esthetics. But composite technology has come a long way. According to our guest, Dr Susan McMahon, we’ve reached a point where a single universal composite can handle virtually every direct restorative case—and on top of that deliver stellar results. So if you’re looking to simplify your restorative workflow without compromising outcomes, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.

For those of us who are doing chairside milling we have a lot more choices in materials than we did several years ago. In fact, there is now a CAD CAM block that actually does not require sintering. Why is this significant? Because it shaves off as much as 25 minutes from the in-office manufacturing process. Today we'll be talking to Dr. Jennifer Bell, a full-time dentist in NC, who is all about high quality dentistry with an emphasis on efficiency. She is big into digital dentistry and has had great success with her now favorite milling block. Today she will be offering all sorts of recommendations that focus on efficient same day dentistry, including 3D Printing.

Part of the strategy of a successful practice, as our guest points out, is to get the patient to become part of the conversation. This of course helps with case acceptance and patient satisfaction. We'll be talking about the importance of cusp protection in our restorations and why it's so important to consider a crown versus composite restorative. We'll also discuss how the standardization of dental materials within a given practice helps improve efficiency and productivity.
Dr. Derse is a mentor at the Kois Center in Seattle, WA and has lectured internationally on cosmetics, restorative dentistry, aligner therapy, and case presentation and acceptance.
